§ 42-1. Littering—Prohibited.

  • No person shall throw, drop or place any trash, debris, glass, bottle, cloth, paper, pasteboard, item containing plastic, metal, wood, animal matter, vegetable matter, trees, or parts of trees, brush, weeds, cuttings or clippings of any kind of plant materials, or leaves, or chemical matter, or other litter, waste, or discarded items on or adjacent to any street, public or private, or on any public place or park, or any private property used by the public as invitees, or on the private property of others anywhere in the city, except that residents of the city may place leaves, brush and tree limbs from their property adjacent to the road right-of-way. Tree trimmings, limbs that are normally collected in the brush pickup, shall not be more than ten inches in diameter and/or not more than ten feet in length and shall be placed on the road right-of-way adjacent to their property during the period authorized by the city for the pickup of such articles and at no other time. Where property abuts both a public street and a private street such items shall be placed adjacent to the private street.
