§ 34-21. Adopted; certain ordinances continued.

  • (a)

    Except as otherwise provided in this section, there is hereby adopted as the Fire Prevention Code of the City of Ladue the 2015 International Fire Code, third printing, as if fully set forth herein regulating and governing the safeguarding of life and property from fire and explosion hazards arising from the storage, handling and use of hazardous substances, materials and devices, and from conditions hazardous to life or property in the occupancy of buildings and premises as herein provided; providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefor; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of said Fire Code on file in the office of City of Ladue are hereby referred to, adopted, and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in this ordinance, including Appendix Chapters A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, and J with the additions, insertions, deletions and changes, if any, prescribed in section 34-22 of this article.

    (b)

    Where the existing ordinances of this city prohibit the use of explosive or inflammable materials, or any business which involves the handling or storage of inflammable or explosive materials, such prohibition under the provisions of such existing ordinances shall continue in force, and it is not the intention of this section to permit the same.
