§ 2-106. Insurance committee established.

  • (a)

    There is hereby established an insurance committee which shall advise the finance director, mayor and council on all matters related to the purchase of insurance coverages by the city and any requirements by the city that contractors and vendors provide proof of certain insurance coverages to the city, and make recommendation thereupon to the director, and to the mayor and council.

    (b)

    The committee shall be comprised of five members who are residents of the city and who possess skills and experience in insurance matters. The mayor, with the consent of the council, shall appoint the members of the committee. The committee shall elect its own chair and vice-chair who shall serve for one year. Committee members shall be appointed for terms of three years each; however, the first committee shall have two members with terms of one year, two members shall have terms of two years, and one member with a term of three years, respectively, as designated by the mayor and council. The mayor and finance director shall be members ex officio.
