§ 2-101. Finance director to be deputy city clerk; term.

  • The finance director shall be selected by the mayor, and shall be elected to his office by the city council. The finance director shall hold his office for an indefinite term and until his employment is terminated by the mayor, with the approval and consent of the city council. Such termination shall not be effective until 30 days' written notice thereof has been given to him. He shall also be the deputy city clerk. He shall perform such duties as may be requested of him by the mayor, the city council, or the city clerk, and when the city clerk is absent or unavailable for any reason to perform the duties of his office, the deputy city clerk shall serve as the acting city clerk upon being requested to do so by the mayor or the city council.
